The bartender charged with serving alcohol to a minor was arraigned and posted bond Thursday afternoon.
Prosecutors say 20-year-old Amanda Heiman contributed to the death of 18-year-old Jacob Dickmeyer, who was killed in a crash last week shortly after drinking at the Fire Barn Bar and Grill in Waterloo where Heiman worked.

She turned herself in Wednesday morning to face the charge of procuring alcohol to a minor resulting in serious injury or death, a felony. According to police, Heiman served alcohol to Dickmeyer, knowing he was underage. He and Colby Burke, who was a passenger in the car, left the bar and crashed their vehicle at 208th Street and West Dodge Road. Burke was injured.
Heiman was smiling as she left Douglas County Court. Her lawyer, Michael Tasset, asked the judge for a low bond, arguing that Heiman isn't a flight risk and has no criminal history. Tasset told Channel 6 News after the hearing that he thought her bond was set at a fair amount, 10 percent of $10,000.
Travis Harlow, one of the bar owners, said they train employees and instruct them not to serve minors, that what happened was one employee's mistake.
Tasset does expect Heiman to plead not guilty. Her next hearing hasn't been scheduled. If convicted, Heiman could face up to five years in prison with a mandatory 30 days in jail.
