Seven jail prisoners allege a pat down search went too far. Sarpy County Chief Deputy sheriff Mike Jones confirms for WOWT6 Fact Finders that an internal investigation is underway at the Sarpy county jail.
During a recent routine search of a housing unit, prisoners were patted down before being moved from their cells. Seven of them have filed grievances that the pat down by a deputy was a sexual assault.
Besides the internal investigation, Jones says Papillion police have been called in for an outside look at the allegations and to determine if any laws have been broken. Jones says searches are on video so investigators can see how the pat downs are conducted.
