A Roman Catholic priest in Grand Island who'd been accused of using a club to threaten his brother was given two years of probation on reduced charges Tuesday.
Fifty-three-year-old Michael Wetovick was originally charged with making felony terroristic threats, assault and use of a weapon. Wetovick pleaded no contest and was convicted on two misdemeanor charges. The weapons charge was dismissed.
Hall County authorities say that on June 16, 2013, Wetovick accused his brother of stealing from him and a fight ensued. Authorities say the brothers have been involved in a long feud.
Wetovick is no longer listed on the parish website as associate pastor at Blessed Sacrament Church. The diocese website lists several assignments for him in the Nebraska Panhandle.
