A 56 year old man attempted to buy expensive items with cheaper price tags at Cabela’s in LaVista.
Michael Sauber of Great Bend, Kansas has been arrested for price tag switching. LaVista police report that Sauber entered the store on Sunday to purchase two $2500 items but he paid only $112 each.
Sauber walked into the store three different times, changing his clothes each time to avoid detection.
It's alleged he took previously scanned price tags for items from the Bargain Cave and put those tags on the expensive merchandise. He would then attempt to sell the items on line. Not this time as Cabela’s staff spotted the switch.
Sauber is a suspect in a similar shopping scheme in Kansas City.
