President Obama's visit to Iowa this week will include a grassroots event at the state fairgrounds in Des Moines.
The White House previously announced that Obama will give an economic speech in Newton and meet with supporters in Des Moines on Thursday.
Obama for America Iowa says the Des Moines stop will include a grassroots event at the Knapp Animal Learning Center at the fairgrounds. It's open to the public and no tickets are required. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
The visit will be Obama's third this year to Iowa, a state he carried in 2008. Iowa is among a handful of states Obama and presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney see as pivotal to reaching the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House.
Romney was in Iowa last Tuesday.
