St. Columbkille’s Fletcher Reiser put in a letter perfect performance on Thursday to capture a Spelling Bee crown.
Ten students competed for the title of the Papillion school’s top speller.
They stood in front of their peers, hoping they wouldn't miss a single letter and after several rounds, two contestants remained.
The word liberate tripped-up the runner-up but Fletcher squared off with the word premium and, letter-by-letter, recited the proper spelling.
Fletcher and the runner-up now advance to the Catholic schools spelling bee in a couple of weeks.
