Campbell Soup Company is recalling about 300 cases of Prego Italian sauce which were delivered late in 2013 to seven states including Nebraska. Iowa was not included in the list.
The recalled products are 24 ounce jars of Prego Traditional Italian sauce that were manufactured December 15, 2013. They can be identified by the “Best By” date of June 16, 2015 with a four digit, military time coding ranging from “CT BJ ZV 0330” through “CT BJ ZV 0449”. That information is printed on the top of the lid.
The problem is that the product is at risk of spoiling. The jars were shipped on December 21 to retailer distribution centers that serve Nebraska, Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Campbell says the problem was detected through the company’s routine quality control testing. No other product is affected.
If you have a recalled product, do not eat it and return it to the store for a full refund. Customers can also call Campbell at 866-270-9303 M-F 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
