With Wednesday night’s Powerball Jackpot at $250-million, the Nebraska Lottery is urging players to play responsibly. The advertised jackpot is the 14th largest in history.
In a statement issued Monday, Nebraska Lottery Director Jim Haynes said, “It’s important for Nebraska Lottery players to remember that no matter how large the jackpot is, the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 175 million. Your odds of winning remain the same regardless of how many tickets are purchased or how many people play.”
The jackpot has grown thanks to 12 consecutive drawings without a winner. If there is a winning ticket drawn Wednesday night, the winner or winners will share $156-million if they take the cash option.
The Nebraska Lottery Department reminds players that if they have a compulsive gambling problem, or know someone who has a problem, to call the Nebraska Compulsive Gambling Help Line at 1-800-GAMBLER.
