OPPD says electrical generation stops every 18 months for the
refueling, which includes replacing about a third of the fuel
assemblies in the reactor core.
OPPD says around 1,100 workers, including some from outside
companies, will perform hundreds of tasks during the outage. Among
them will be replacement of a reactor coolant pump motor.
OPPD spokesman Mike Jones said Monday the outage is expected to
last around 40 days.
