Traffic was stopped along Dodge Street at Interstate 480 in Omaha Saturday morning while police dealt with a man trying to jump from the overpass.
Officers called to the scene just before 9 a.m. saw 28-year-old Antonio Parker standing on the railing overlooking I-480. Additional officers were en route to stop traffic along the highway below.
Parker ran and tried to jump the fence in an apparent suicide attempt, but officers were able to pull him off the fence. He was combative and continued to try to run and jump from the overpass. Police eventually used a Taser to subdue him.
Parker was taken to Alegent Creighton University Medical Center and placed into emergency protective custody.
