Tobacco Island Wildlife Management Area has reopened to public access, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
Tobacco Island, in Cass County south of Plattsmouth, and Hamburg Bend in Otoe County had been closed so the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers could repair levies and river chutes on these areas.
The Cassgram reports the work is completed and the areas are open to hunting, fishing and other allowable uses.
