Iowa City authorities have arrested a 21-year-old University of Iowa student, accusing her of lying about being abducted.
Kelsey Hoffman, of Fort Dodge, was arrested last week and has already left Johnson County Jail. She faces a misdemeanor charge of making a false report of a felony.
Iowa City police say Hoffman reported September 23 that she'd been grabbed from behind at her apartment building and knocked out. She told police she woke up hours later at a parking ramp.
Police began investigating her story and eventually concluded that she hadn't been abducted but had been out drinking that night.
