A 13-year-old boy is under arrest for the shooting death of a 37-year-old woman in northern Iowa. The boy’s name has not been released because of his age.
Mitchell County Sheriff Curt Younker said in a news release Monday that deputies were called to a home about eight miles west of Osage about 7:30pm Saturday. Deputies found Gretchen Cooks dead inside the house.
An autopsy determined she died of several gunshot wounds.
The boy has been taken to the North Iowa Juvenile Detention Center in Waterloo.
The sheriff did not release any other details about the shooting or comment if the suspect and victim knew each other
