Police Honor Lincoln Detective Killed In Car Wreck

Hundreds of law enforcement officers are honoring a Lincoln police detective who was killed in a car accident while heading to work last week.

Thirty-seven-year-old Officer Tony Howe, of York, died last Wednesday. His funeral was held on Monday in York.

The York News-Time says nearly 100 police vehicles lined the parking outside Emmanuel Faith Lutheran Church. Officers represented agencies from Nebraska and Iowa and the FBI.

Howe was a York police officer and a York County sheriff's deputy before he joined the Lincoln police department in 2004.

He is survived by his wife and three sons.
