A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for southeastern Fremont, Montgomery and Page counties in Iowa until 6 p.m. Sunday.
A bank robbery suspect who barricaded himself inside a Shelby County, Iowa, home Thursday afternoon later hanged himself.
Shelby County Sheriff Mark Hervey says Larry Tiarks, 48, of Avoca, was a person of interest in the holdup of the Shelby County State Bank.
Deputies followed a man in a vehicle matching a description of the getaway car around noon to a house north of Avoca.
The Iowa State Patrol tactical team entered the house about four hours later and found Tiarks dead.
The investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
