Omaha police talked a domestic violence suspect into giving himself up Friday afternoon, but not before the Emergency Response Unit or SWAT team was called in.
Officers set up a perimeter around a Quonset hut in the area of 40th and Lake streets and used a bullhorn to tell the man to turn on his phone or come out with his arms in the air. He was later located in one of the nearby businesses. Originally a suspect in a terroristic threats case, now there may be more charges added.
"This morning he was involved in another altercation with his girlfriend," said OPD Officer James Shade. "He fled the scene. Since then officers put out a broadcast and he was located in the area of 40th and Lake streets."
After about two hours, the man did give himself up. Police have not released his name.
