A day after a woman was murdered in her Ralston apartment, investigators said it was not a random act of violence.

Forty-two-year-old Amiee Kearns was shot to death in her Orleans Square Apartment, near 83rd and L Street, Tuesday. She and a friend were inside when two men broke in.

According to police, the suspects stole only a laptop from the apartment. Police are continuing to test other evidence at the scene for DNA; however, they believe the victim and suspects knew each other.

The Ralston Police Department is offering a $1,500 cash reward for any information leading to an arrest. The public should call 402-331-1786.
