Police: Man Drinking Before Deadly Fall
Lincoln Police say alcohol may have been a factor in the death of a man who was found in a parking garage stairwell.
Lincoln Police said 24-year-old Matthew Dutton of Blair was drinking before he died, but have not released his exact BAC.
Rescue crews were called to the Que Place Garage at 1111 Q street just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The initial report was a man was unconscious on the ground.
Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Captain Jason Stille said the victim appears to have fallen from the stairs. Video from the garage camera system is being looked to determine exactly what happened.
Stille said the initial indication is this may just be a tragic accident, but since there are no witnesses, they are collecting evidence.
Friends describe Dutton as caring, funny and a good friend.
