Bond was set Wednesday at 10 percent of $73,000 for the suspect in a rash of break-ins on the UNO campus last summer. Jayden Disher faces several counts of theft and criminal mischief.

Disher’s sister, Jasmine Judy, said Wednesday that this isn't the first time Disher has been on the wrong side of the law but she hopes it's the last.

She said, “Jayden, we love you. The kids miss you and we really hope you start making some good decisions."

Dane Leatherman, a UNO student living on campus, often parks his car nearby never concerned about security, but that changed last August. “I got a phone call from the front office saying my car had gotten broken into. I came back, walked down here, started looking and everyone else was looking at their cars and glass was everywhere. All my stuff was pulled out from the center console. It was just a mess."

His car needed $160 in repairs. As for the thieves, they took a few dollars and some change from his car. At least eight other cars were also hit, including Katelyn Roesler’s. Her door handle was broken and window also shattered. “I was just really emotional because it’s my first time living on my own and then this happened and I didn’t know what else to expect the rest of the year."

The two haven’t had any problems since, but have been wondering, who did this? Now, they have some answers. "Little bit of relief, finally something's happening because it seemed like nothing was happening at all, but finally good to hear some good news about that,” said Leatherman.

“I thought that everyone gave up, but knowing someone at least got caught it makes me feel better knowing they didn't put the case aside because so many people were impacted," said Roesler.

There could also be a second person involved. If you have any information, contact Crime Stoppers at (402) 444-STOP.
