A man driving a stolen vehicle who eluded police earlier Wednesday was later arrested.
Officers spotted the vehicle and tried to pull it over near North 42nd Street and Paxton Boulevard, but the driver sped away. A brief chase was called off due to the driver's reckless behavior.
About 40 minutes later just before 2 a.m., police spotted the vehicle near North 44th and Jaynes streets. When officers approached four people near the vehicle, one of them ran, dropping a gun as he fled.
After a short foot pursuit, police took 20-year-old Devondre Glover into custody. He was booked for felony flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, theft by receiving, obstructing a peace officer and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
