Police Name Alleged Drunk Driver Who Crashed Into Home

Omaha Police told WOWT 6 News the name of the man who crashed his car into a home near 38th and Cass was drunk. He has been identified as 20-year-old Tha Gray. The crash left extensive damage to the home, partially collapsing the back porch. The basement area also took a hit.

It happened around 8 p.m. at 38th and Cass in Omaha. Police told WOWT 6 News beofore the man crashed into the home, he hit two cars and a fire hydrant. The two cars were owned by the same man. Police said moments before the crash they received several calls of a driver driving erratically.

According to police, all three men inside the car were drunk. Neighbors told WOWT 6 News they believe the driver reached speeds of 60-70 mph. Neighbors nearby said they heard a loud boom, then ran out to see what happened.

Karen Laughlin witnessed the crash and called 911. She said, " He bottomed out with sparks going all over the place at 38th Street. And then proceeded to lose control, banged up against a white car, then was careening here, and I heard a big crash so I came running."

Neighbors also told WOWT 6 News they are just thankful nobody was injured. They said many children are often outside in the area. One neighbor on the street was having a Barbecue at the time of the accident. They said it could have been a lot worse.
