Omaha Police are investigating a shooting that happened near 42nd and Bedford Monday night.
It happened around 9 p.m. at the J-N-J Grocery. When officers arrived, they discovered the store's glass door had been shot out, but there was no victim.
Police say the victim, 30-year-old Brian Sangster, initially got into his own vehicle to try to get to the hospital; however, he either had car trouble or ran out of gas and stalled at the entrance ramp to the Alegent Creighton University Medical Center Emergency Room ramp.
Gang Prevention Unit Detectives Hutton and Fortune loaded Sangster, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, into their cruiser and drove him to the ER doors. The victim was treated for his injuries and is expected to survive.
Police are looking for a suspect, but have not released any descriptions. This shooting is eligible for a $10,000 cash reward from Crime Stoppers. If you have any information, leave an anonymous tip, at 402-444-7867.
