Council Bluffs police are investigating the death of a homeless man.
The 34-year-old was found in a wooded area along North 15th Street near the railroad tracks. Investigators say it appears the man was digging a hole, either for shelter or to store his belongings, when he fell in and was trapped. Foul play is not suspected.
The man’s name has not been released.
