Lincoln police arrested two people after a short vehicle pursuit Thursday morning. The suspects are identified as 35-year-old Joshua Two Bulls and 36-year-old Heather Talbot.
Police say an officer stopped Two Bulls' car about 3:30am in the area of 44th & O Street after the driver made an illegal turn at a red light. When the officer approached the the SUV, the driver sped off.
After pursuing the vehicle for about seven blocks, the chase was called off after the suspect began driving into oncoming traffic.
Less than an hour later, the vehicle was found abandoned near 36th & N Street. A police dog led police to two women hiding behind a shed in a nearby yard. Two Bulls, who was identified as the suspected driver, was also found.
Police found an SKS rifle in the vehicle. Two Bulls was booked for fleeing to avoid arrest, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of controlled substance, providing false information, having a suspended license, and failure to obey a traffic control device.
One of the women, identified as Talbot, was booked for possessing a controlled substance. The other woman was not cited.
