Police Arrest Bank Robber

Lincoln Police say they have tracked down the man who robbed a bank in downtown Lincoln last week.

Police say Kirk Reisetter entered the Nebraska Bank of Commerce, 250 N. 14th Street, and handed the teller a deposit slip. A demand for cash was hand written on the deposit slip along with a
claim that he had a gun. No weapon was ever displayed. He then exited the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

Following the incident, multiple tips were received through Crime Stoppers. Several described the suspect’s proximity to a downtown parking garage prior to and immediately following the robbery. Through further investigation, a Park & Go employee was interviewed. He recalled the type of car the suspect was driving and the fact that the suspect paid his parking fee with a credit card. Video surveillance also documented these actions.

Investigators were able to trace the vehicle and credit card information to 24 year old Kirk Reisetter. On September 12th Lincoln Police Department investigators contacted Kirk Reisetter in Kearney, Nebraska, where he resides. Kirk Reisetter was interviewed and a search warrant was conducted at his apartment.

Investigators were able to recover a substantial portion of the stolen money. The Kearney Police Department, the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office and the University of Nebraska-Kearney Police provided assistance with the investigation.

An arrest warrant was issued for Robbery and Kirk Reisetter was lodged over night at the Buffalo County Jail. On September 13, 2012, Kirk Riesetter was transferred to the Lancaster County Jail.
