Lincoln police say they have arrested a man who crashed his Ford Mustang into a tree Sunday. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a significant amount of blood and two dogs, one of which was dead.
The incident was reported at 3:16 a.m. at 35th and Madison Avenue. Officers report that the car left the roadway and crashed into a tree on the property of Eclipse Screen Printing. The passenger and driver air bags deployed
About 45 minutes later, an officer was sent to Bryan West Campus. Two people showed up at the hospital with injuries consistent with a crash. Police say at first, the 22 year old man and 19 year old woman claimed they fell down the stairs. They later admitted to being back seat passengers in the Mustang. The man suffered a broken femur. The woman had injuries to her face.
Police say the driver, 20-year-old John Marsh, was found Monday morning. He suffered bruised ribs and abrasions to his right hand. He was arrested after being questioned for police for leaving the scene of an injury accident. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Police say he offered no explanation for losing control of the car.
