The National Weather Service continues the heat advisory through Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures once again on Tuesday will rise to the upper 90s however high humidity will make it feel like 105 to 110 degrees.
A 32-year-old man is thrown in jail after running from the scene of an injury accident. Lincoln police say Aaron Dolton was drunk.
Police say Dolton struck the driver of a moped near the intersection of Normal & Franklin about 11:30 p.m. Friday. A witness followed his pickup to the area of Broadmore & South. The witness says Dolton got out of his pickup and ran.
Police and the Nebraska State Patrol helicopter were called to search the area. Dolton was eventually arrested and booked for a number of charges: Leaving the scene of an injury accident, negligent driving, 3rd offense DUI, and refusing to take a chemical test.
As of Monday morning, police said the victim 25-year-old Michael Steingas was in critical but stable condition. He suffered a broken rib and a brain bleed.
