Omaha police had quite a lot to sort out when they saw a crime unfold Tuesday afternoon. They determined that a woman attempted to hit a pregnant women with a stolen vehicle, but hit a tree instead.
The situation unfolded about 4:15 p.m. just north of 40th & Paxton Boulevard. Officers observed several people arguing and noticed that a vehicle had collided with a tree. They say 28-year old Denise Daugherty intentionally drove at 20-year old Tashianna Jones. Jones jumped out of the way. Since she is pregnant, Jones was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
Daugherty was booked for theft by receiving, attempted felony assault, and destruction of property.
