A 45-year-old former Plattsmouth woman pleaded guilty to a Class I Misdemeanor forgery count. The case immediately went to sentencing and Deanna Silva was placed on six months probation.
Both the prosecution and defense had recommended probation. It was part of a plea agreement in which a felony count was amended to a misdemeanor in exchange for the plea, said Chief Deputy Cass County Attorney Colin Palm.
The Cassgram reports Silva was involved in a vehicle transaction this past February in which she forged the signature of an ex-boyfriend whose name was also on the title of the car she was trading in, said Palm. The former boyfriend found out and notified authorities. Silva was able to undo the car deal and the ownership issue was recently settled in a civil case.
Silva now resides in Michigan.
