Plea Deal Reached in Weapons Case

William Bush has reached a plea deal in his latest brush with the law. He pleaded guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person and will be sentenced June 3rd.

In exchange for the plea, a Habitual Criminal charge was dismissed.

Bush had been scheduled to go to trial Monday in connection with a shooting that injured 27-year-old James Strong last September.

Authorities say Bush drove James Strong to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. Investigating officers found reason to believe that Bush might have been involved in the shooting. He had a gun at the hospital and was arrested.

In March 2012, Bush stood trial for the death of Kyle McCroy, but was acquitted amid questions about witness tampering.
