Phony Doctor Arrested

A suspect who impersonated a doctor over the phone has been arrested for trying to pick up a prescription narcotic. The 32 year old man was taken into custody as he exited an Ashland pharmacy with the pills.

Saunders County Attorney Scott Tingelhoff said Timothy D. Miller of rural Valparaiso has been charged with three counts of illegally obtaining a controlled substance over a nearly two year period.

He was caught last week after calling an Ashland pharmacy and claiming to be an area doctor. The pharmacy became suspicious and police were waiting when Miller left the drug store.

Police reports said he admitted impersonating a doctor and ordered the prescription for personal use.
