Thanks to tax returns -- this time of year can be packed with paperwork. As you're filling out forms, don't forget about the furriest member of the family. It's time to license your pets. The deadline is March 15.
At the Nebraska Humane Society, the requirement for dogs and cats is a valid rabies shot -- but even that's flexible.
"If your animal had a shot 2 years ago and it was a 3 year shot you're good to go for another year," said Pam Wiese, "If you're due for a rabies shot you can still license to avoid that penalty and then you can get your rabies shot within 30 days of licensing."
There are four ways to to license your pets: Come to the shelter at 90th & Fort -- mail in the paperwork -- do it online-- or do it at your local vet's office.
Keep this in mind -- the city of Omaha charges a late fee.
