A pedestrian bridge connecting the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln to Haymarket Park is now open to traffic.
However, that bridge will only be open when the arena is holding events. Construction crews still have a few small changes to make to the bridge before it'll be open 24/7.
The bridge itself stretches over railroad tracks to connect the arena to nearby parking. Lincoln residents seem pleased with its construction so far.
"Accessibility is huge," says resident Karen Rehm. "It does allow that connection between two different areas where you can park."
"Just having more access points to the arena and more places for people to park and still get to the arena without having to walk a mile is going to be nice," says resident Jack Ehrke.
Workers still have to add 18-foot high letters across the span of the bridge that will spell out the word "Lincoln."
