Credit Card use approved by county board for the Cass County Treasurer Office counters at the courthouse. County Treasurer Richard Wassinger said there have been taxpayers pulling out their credit cards at the counters only to learn the cards weren’t accepted.
That will change when the county gets set up with a system to accept credit cards in the weeks ahead according to the Cassgram.
Wassinger stressed that the transactions will not be like most retail locations where the convenience fee is already factored in the price. He said taxpayers using credit cards at the courthouse counters will be told that they will be charged for their taxes plus the 2.49% convenience charge for using a credit card.
The county has already been accepting online real estate tax payments for a few years. The convenience fee is also an added charge in the www.nebraskataxesonline.us process.
