A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Pawnee and Richardson counties in southeast Nebraska until 3 p.m. Thursday.
Beginning Monday, May 13, Cornhusker Highway will close from east of 70th Street to about one-half mile west of 84th Street.
The closure is needed for repair work to the pavement leading up to the bridges over Burlington Northern Sante Fe railroad and Cotner Boulevard.
Cotner Boulevard traffic travels one lane in each direction at this location. Barring unforeseen delays, the contractor will have two weeks to complete the work and open the roadway to through traffic by Friday, May 24.
During construction, traffic will be rerouted to these detours:
• Eastbound: south on 70th Street to Cotner Boulevard, Cotner Boulevard to Cornhusker Highway
• Westbound: west on Cotner Boulevard to 70th Street, 70th Street north to Cornhusker Highway
