Monthly customers of a downtown Omaha parking garage have been notified they may have to pay again to park this College World Series weekend.
The 500 stalls of the World Herald owned parking garage at 12th and Capitol are reserved for parkers who pay $75 a month.
But Central Parking System which manages the garage has sent notice that this weekend only 50 stalls will be saved for monthly parkers until 10am. Then they, like all College World Series fans will have to pay the going rate of $30 a day.
Dale Mellor responds to railroad emergencies and he doesn’t have a Monday through Friday job. He may be called in anytime during the weekend and said he needs a reserved space. Mellor said, “They shouldn’t double dip. If you sold something once you don’t sell it again and try to make money off of it.”
The General Manager of Central Parking said monthly customers shouldn’t panic over the notice. Curtis Tracy said, “If you have any questions call our office and our people will help them.”
Tracy said though the garage is open to CWS parking this weekend, any monthly customer who needs a parking space will be accommodated.
Tracy said monthly parkers will be there long after the College World Series so they are a priority.
