There was a strange sight in the Orpheum theater parking lot Friday, but it wasn’t any artistic expression or outdoor gallery piece. It was for protection.
What looked like large pillows in the parking lot were actually cars covered in bed sheets. A local company, McGill Painting and Restoration, is working on the Omaha theater’s fire escape.
They’ve been working on the stairs for about a month. On Friday, employees covered the vehicles in the parking lot to protect them from the sandblasting.
