A lot of Omahans were likely late for work Thursday morning due to a crash on eastbound Interstate-80.
The multi-vehicle crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on I-80, just west of the 84th Street interchange. It's not clear yet what happened; however, a blue vehicle ended up on its side and another car was on the shoulder.
Police closed two lanes of eastbound traffic to investigate and allow room for a tow truck to remove the blue vehicle. As of 8: 40 a.m., all lanes of traffic were open.
The interstate was like a parking lot for the better part of an hour during the morning rush. L Street, eastbound, was also backed up past 125th Street from spillover traffic.
