Park Cleanup Next Big Event

After a record crowd filled Omaha’s Memorial Park for Friday night’s Bank of the West Celebrates America concert and fireworks show, cleaning crews took over Saturday morning.

Four dumpsters of trash were filled with leftovers from the estimated 70,000 people who came out to see headliner Huey Lewis and The News.

Tom Miller got to the park early to collect cans from the dumpsters. He said he gets about $25 for every 500 cans and this wasn't the first event he's hit. “At the College World Series I go to two bars and made about $2,000.”

Miller said he collected about 1,600 cans, about $80 worth.
