The Papio Bay Aquatic Center celebrated its 20th birthday Sunday with a DJ, games, giveaways and of course, cake.
Special guests at the party included those who played a part in the construction of the Papillion facility 20 years ago. “It's wonderful, it gives me a good feeling to see all these people enjoying something that you had something to do with,” said former recreation department director Les Giddens. "That's the enjoyment, that's what I get out of it."
Papio Bay hosted a community giveback day. A food pantry item or a $3 donation was accepted in place of admission. That will continue until 8 p.m. Sunday.
