The 67th annual celebration of Papillion Days runs Wednesday through Sunday featuring live entertainment, a carnival, parade, dance, fireworks and pancake feed.
Former American Idol contestant Quaid Edwards performs at the Sumtur Amphitheater at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The parade begins at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Edwards performance will also include free hot dogs and drinks. Some locals will also take the stage for Papillion Idol.
Organizers say they’re also prepared if we should see another round of stormy weather.
Fire Chief Bill Bowes said, “We have a place to go where we can keep an eye on the weather, have a contact with the NWS. W we get the decision-makers in one room, get all the information together and make the best decision for the safety of everyone there.”
They did have to implement that plan last year when a severe storm rolled through. The carnival had to end and people had to take shelter in the Junior High.
