Saturday's sunshine and temperature meant that people could get outside and enjoy the snow without running the risk of frostbite.
The break in the weather couldn’t have come at a better time for the Varlet family. The kids are about to return to school and hate being cooped up indoors even in the winter. So they headed to the hill in Omaha's Hanscom Park.
“Last year we froze coming out to go sledding, at least today we can stay out here for a few hours so that will be nice," said Julie Varlet. She and her husband were hoping the kids might have enough fun on the hill that naps would be needed by afternoon.
