He was first called to a traffic stop at 3:15am after a police officer suspected the presence of drugs in a vehicle driven by Kenneth Julian, 56. With Jake’s sniffing skills, police were able to find methamphetamine, marijuana, Xanax, and Hydrocodone.

Jake was then called from the scene to respond to a report that three men were in the area of 44th and J Street in Lincoln wearing gloves in the heat. When Sgt. Clark’s cruiser arrived, three men were seen running through yards between houses. Jake located the men hiding. They are identified as Samuel Barnes, 20, Joshua Bucsis, 19, and Mickey McConkey, 19. Police believe they were in the area checking for vehicles left unlocked.

Police say the men stole two cameras from one vehicle. All three were cited for theft, trespassing, vandalism, and MIP. Police were only able to provide mugshots of Julian & McConkey.
