The Gage County Sheriff’s office had to respond to an accident scene this weekend with some delicate work. The driver of a semi accidentally let his rear axle go into a ditch. This caused the cargo, a tank full of anhydrous ammonia to shift.
The accident report indicates the momentum of the anhydrous ammonia caused the tanker to overturn onto its side. This accident happened about 3:20pm Saturday at the junction of SW 100th Road and W Cedar Road south of Clatonia.
The driver, 46-year old Kevin Hulse of Friend, Nebraska was not injured. The container did not rupture or leak as a result of the accident.
