Speed and alcohol appear to have been factors in a crash Friday morning that left the driver hospitalized with chest injuries.
Twenty-three-year-old Matthew Nerz hit a tree near 55th and Farnam around 1:45 a.m. and was pinned inside the vehicle. It took emergency crews about 15 minutes to cut him out. He was not wearing a seat belt.
