Update: Motorcyclist Injured In High-Speed Crash

A motorcyclist was critically injured Friday morning in what Nebraska State Patrol troopers say was a high-speed crash in Elkhorn.

Wreckage was scattered along 204th Street near Ida where 26-year-old Andrew Borgeson of Bennington lost control and tumbled an estimated 200 feet. He was taken to Creighton University Medical Center and is expected to survive.

The bike also tumbled, shedding parts and vaulting over a resident’s fence. “I suppose this guy was lucky, there was a bush to keep him from hitting the pole, but it wasn't a matter of if, it was a matter of when somebody was finally going to get off the road,” said resident Roger Brodd. “This guy packed a whole lot of violence into his last ride."

Borgeson was cited for not having a motorcycle license endorsement.

Brodd often sees drivers speeding along 204th Street. “They go flying by here like crazy. I don't know if he had to dodge a deer or what, there's plenty of things that can cause you to go where you shouldn't have gone."
