Lucky to be alive. That’s how investigators describe the driver of a Honda civic crushed in a collision with a semi.
The accident happened this morning on highway 30 near Kennard,Nebraska. Washington county deputies say the car driven by 24 year old Casey Hillman of Blair crossed the center line and hit a semi head on. The truck driver swerved into a nearby field.
Hillman was taken to the Nebraska medical center by helicopter. His condition is not known but a Sheriff's Sergeant on the scene says Hillman was talking to rescue personnel as they freed him from the wreckage. The truck driver from Sioux Falls wasn’t injured.
The investigation continues into why Hillman crossed the center line. Ice was not a factor.
