UPDATE: Driver Killed In Interstate 29 Crash

A 33-year-old woman was killed in an accident on Interstate 29 south of Council Bluffs Sunday afternoon.

Iowa State Patrol troopers told WOWT 6 News Miki Lynn Bailey slammed on the brakes of her Jeep Grand Cherokee after a driver in front of her had slowed down for a motorcycle north of Highway 370. She went off the road, lost control, crossed the median and her vehicle rolled over. It happened shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Baily was trapped and had to be extricated by emeregency responders. She was taken to the hospital by medical helicopter after the crash.

The crash closed the highway in both directions. It has since reopened.

A second accident occurred when a driver rear-ended a car. No one was seriously injured.
