One Car Crash Requires Medical Helicopter

Victim airlifted from the scene of a one-vehicle accident Saturday evening.

Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann tells the Cassgram that sheriff’s deputies and Eagle Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a location near 202nd and Holdredge Streets about 6:30pm.

An eastbound vehicle driven by 46-year-old Joel Akins of Lincoln first left the roadway to the left, then re-entered the road and flipped, landing on the driver’s side. Akins was removed from the vehicle by fire and rescue personnel. He was flown to Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln by Star Care helicopter.
