The Standard & Poor's credit rating service has just downgraded Omaha's credit rating to its lowest rating in more than 30 years.
The S&P took the city's rating from a AAA to a AA+. It's the first time Omaha's S&P rating has been below the AAA mark in three decades.
The downgrade means lenders may be more hesitant to loan money to the city. Mayor Jean Stothert is expected to make an official comment about the downgrade Friday morning.
